In addition, when prescribed for the patient by a physician, Medicare will reimburse most or all of the cost. If you are in the Original Medicare Plan, providers (e.g., hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, and physicians) are required by law to file Medicare claims for covered services and supplies that you receive. You should not need to file any Medicare claims. The foam bandage system was developed by Leonard Abrams, DPM. The effectiveness of the products has been proven over many years of clinical experience. This patented multi-density foam is also approved by Medicare. While there are dozens of different wound pads and dressings available on the market, the Abrams patented foam is the only patented dressing that enhances circulation. This characteristic of the patented foam increases vascular flow and nourishment to the wound site which is one of the primary needs for appropriate healing and pain reduction. (See TECHNOLOGY) The multi-density foam is an effective homeopathic pain management bandage, based on its ability to enhance circulation. With capillary decongestion, concomitant with circulation enhancement, comes the reduction of edemous pressure on site nerves. Additionally, it modulates and distributes weight, making it a unique and excellent bed covering for chronic and long term care as it helps prevent bed sores. These characteristics also make the multi-density foam therapeutic when used for orthopedic bracing at all major joints. Ankle, knee, wrist, elbow and back braces* made from this material all effectively help reduce pain. The multi-density foam is an effective hydrophilic wound barrier. The durometer of each layer is critical for maximal enhancement, and therefore effectiveness. The foam has been proven to enhance healing of diabetic wounds. Until now, the foam has only been available through physicians and treatment centers. |
